This has been (and continues to be) a busy month for our family. Our social calendar is always full, which can make for crazy days around here.
This past weekend we attended a children's Christmas party for James' company. It was a great morning, complete with treats, crafts, face painting and a visit from Santa (who also wears an iron ring). The girls had a great time, though I was worried about how they would react to the bearded man in the red suit. Ava looked absolutely stunned at first. She stuck pretty close to James and had some questions.
Ava: "Is Santa Clause a boy?"
James: "Yes, he is."
Ava: "And Santa has a penis?"
James: "Yes, he does."
Poor, poor Santa. Some times Ava's questions can be quite amusing (and somewhat inappropriate in certain circles).
Sydney stole the show. She sat well on Santa's lap and pulled at his beard
while everyone laughed. She didn't make stranget at all!!
So, our tree is decorated, our lights are up, most of the shopping has been done and we are starting to feel like we are ready for this holiday. We're looking forward to seeing everyone and spending quality time with all of the family.
