Three's Company

Yesterday, we had a good day.  Nothing spectacular happened.  We didn't accomplish anything great.  The house was messy.  The laundry didn't get put away.  Our meals were just so-so.   So what did happen?  Nothing.  But I did get to watch all three of my children play in such a way that I was so happy and proud to be their mom.
We took a little walk down a nature trail.  Jack was riding on my back in the carrier and the girls were running every which way-checking out tree stumps and pine cones and such.  They were all smiling.  They were all laughing.  No one was whining of complaining or fighting!
On the way home we stopped at the park.  We let Jack have a swing in the baby swing.  Ava pushed behind him and Sydney tickled his toes as he soared forward.  Such a simple moment but such a beautiful example of the sibling relationships they are growing into.  It just made my heart melt.  A little.
Life is busy and hectic and I am so guilty of not taking the time to really enjoy a moment like this with my kids.  I'm so glad I witnessed this particular moment with my three children.  It was precious.
I am going to try harder to find these moments in my busy days.  It makes my job that much more rewarding.
